Kruger National Park

The Kruger National Park trip usually starts before sun-up to get to the gate as soon as it opens.

Leaving before sunrise to enter the park soon after the Phalaborwa Gate opens, and to watch the sunrise while searching for game.

At Letaba camp we stop for breakfast and to visit the Elephant museum. This is an exceptionally interesting stop and a sobering one when you stand beneath the great tusks of the magnificent 7.

Each camp in the Kruger has a sightings board, so depending on what has been seen and where, and as long as it is in the general direction that we are heading in, we continue with the drive. I have found that the gravel section between Letaba rest camp and Olifants rest camp is quite productive and often follow that route.
